Fire fighters prevented the fierce flames at Blk 96 of Henderson Road early this morning (Oct 26) from spreading to vehicles in a nearby carpark. No one was hurt in this incident.The SCDF's swift and efficient action helped put out the fire within minutes and saved STOMPer Billy from losing his motorbike in the disaster.In an email, a grateful STOMPer Billy says:"This fire took place at Blk 96 Henderson road at about 1.45am on October 26. "Thank God the Police and Civil Defence arrived in time and put out the fire within minutes. "No one was hurt and no motorbikes or cars were damaged. "
Lucky that my bike was not damaged too. "To the Civil Defence, thanks!"When contacted, a spokesperson from the SCDF said:"SCDF received a call at 1:45am on October 26 about a fire at the rubbish collection centre of Blk 96 Henderson Road."1 fire engine and 1 Red Rhino were dispatched and the fire was put out by 2 water jets in 10 minutes".
